Oriental Medicine / Acupuncture for Headaches, Migraines & Cluster Headaches
Acupuncture is more effective than medication in reducing the severity and frequency of chronic headaches, according to a new analysis conducted by Duke University Medical Center researchers.
The pain that headache and migraine sufferers endure can impact every aspect of their lives. Acupuncture can offer powerful relief without the side effects that prescription and over-the-counter drugs can cause. Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs have been used to relieve Headaches and Migraines, as well as their underlying causes, for thousands of years and is a widely accepted form of treatment for headaches in our society. There are two basic strategies for treating headache with Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine:
First is to relieve and or eliminate your headache or migraine if it is occurring at the time of your visit.
Second, and most important is using Acupuncture and Herbal medicine to break your cycle of headaches.
Once the pattern of Cause according to Oriental medicine is determined, a plan for treatment is established which will work to modify your system in such a way that migraines and headaches are less likely to occur with the same frequency and Severity. Quite often Acupuncture and herbs help you to have an almost complete cessation of headaches over a course of treatment.
