Licensed and Nationally Board Certified Acupuncturist, Herbalist & Registered Nurse
I am the founder and director of Niantic Acupuncture and Family Wellness, LLC in Niantic, Connecticut.
Presently, I am serving the president of the board of the Connecticut Society of Acupuncturists (CTSA) the Connecticut primary representative for the American Society of Acupuncturists (ASA).
In 2003, I earned my graduate degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MTCM) from the Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California after which I started a private practice as a practitioner of Chinese Medicine in Felton and Sunnyvale, California while maintaining privileges as a licensed Acupuncturist at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, California.
I have 25 years of experience as an RN in Critical and Emergency Care also in the San Francisco Bay Area.
My skills are in preventive medicine, the treatment of pain disorders, myofascial and orthopedic disorders, sports medicine, mental health, physical and emotional disorders of stress, anxiety and depression, internal medicine, cardiovascular disorders, women's health, and hospice and palliative care.
I consider each person's case as unique, highly personal, and fully integrated, emotionally, physically and mentally.
By combining my knowledge and experience both as a Western and Eastern medicine health care practitioner, I am able to provide an integrative approach to assessment and effective treatment, even for those who are very ill.
I provide the full range of Oriental Medicine including Acupuncture, Gua Sha, Cupping, Tuina, Herbal prescriptions, Nutritional and dietary support, as well as therapeutic movement instruction when necessary.
I maintain an active role in the health community through contact with a number of Naturopaths, Medical and surgical MDs, Chiropractors, Nutritionists, Massage therapists, and more.
I have been licensed and practicing Massage Therapy since 2005. I graduated from the
Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Newington, Connecticut.
I derive great joy from helping people achieve and maintain wellness through massage therapy.
I have always been interested in the function of the human body and how alternative modalities can affect wellness in the individual.
I believe we are our own greatest healers. I continue to self-educate by experiencing many
healing techniques for my own health and well-being. By expanding my knowledge I can
better serve my clients.
I am a voracious reader and enjoy reading about and have knowledge in the areas of
Aromatherapy, Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Acupuncture, Energy Medicine, Cranial
Sacral Therapy, Neuroscience and general health and wellness.
I have additional training in Corporate Chair Massage, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Hot Stone

June 4, 1972 - July 21, 2020
We are beyond heartbroken and devastated that our beloved Carlos Sepulveda passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2020. He was a joyful, dedicated, loving, brilliant and talented member of our Niantic Acupuncture family and he was an incredible husband and father bear to his three children. We will all miss him more than we can express in words.
We understand this will affect many of you deeply and we welcome any communication by phone or email or comments on our facebook page where this is also posted.
Maggie and the staff of Niantic Acupuncture.
